Log Setup Dialog

Use the Log Setup dialog to specify how BarTender logs system messages. You can specify that messages are logged to both the BarTender System Database and to a text file.

By using this dialog, you can also configure print job logging to a text file.

You can configure print job logging to the BarTender System Database by using the Print Job Logging page in Administration Console.

You can open the Log Setup dialog by using one of the following methods:

On the Administer menu, click Log Setup.
On the Administer menu, click Application Message Setup to open the Message Setup dialog, and then click Log Setup.

The Log Setup dialog includes the following options.

System Database Logging

Log messages to System Database: Specifies that application messages are logged to the BarTender System Database.
Severity Level: Specifies the types of messages that are logged to the database. Select Custom, and then click Select to open the Select Messages dialog, which you can use to define a custom set of messages that you want to log to the BarTender System Database.

Text File Logging

Log messages to text file: Specifies that application messages are logged to a text file. Click Setup to open the Text File Log Message Setup dialog, which you can use to configure and view the logged text files.
Log print jobs to text file: Specifies that the content of each print job is logged to a text file. Click Setup to open the Print Job Text File Log Setup dialog, which you can use to configure and view the logged text files..
