Tabs Overview |
Data Builder includes a ribbon that has context-sensitive tabs that display specific controls that you can use to create and manage your databases. For example, you can add a table on the Home tab and configure field properties on the Fields tab.
Below the tabs ribbon, when either the Home or Fields tab is selected, the Tables pane and the Data View and Design View panes are displayed. These components operate independently of the tabs. The Tables pane displays all the tables in the current database.
The Fields tab is available only when you are using Data view. The properties that are displayed on the Fields tab are the properties of the currently selected column or field in Data view. In Design view, you can edit field properties by using the Field Properties pane at the bottom of the view.
This section describes the various tabs and the controls that are available on each.
Use the Administration tab to access standard file functions such as New, Open, Save, Save As, and Close, and to access recently saved databases and folders.
Use the Home tab to add tables, to cut, copy and paste tables, and to clear data or remove all fields from a table.
Use the Fields tab to add and remove fields, configure field properties, and configure validation rules for the data in the selected table.
