Copying and Pasting Objects

You can copy and paste an object by using a drag-and-drop operation or by copying the object to the Clipboard and then pasting the copy to the template.

ClosedTo copy an object by using a drag-and-drop operation

  1. Select the object that you want to copy.

  2. Hold down the Ctrl key, and then drag the object to the location on the template where you want a copy to be placed.

When you copy objects in this way, the behavior of an object's movement varies depending on whether snapping is enabled. When snapping is enabled, BarTender automatically assists you in aligning the object based on the location of other objects, ruler division marks, and template and data entry form grids. ClosedTo copy an object by using the Clipboard

  1. Select the object that you want to copy.

  2. Use one of the following methods to copy the object to the Clipboard: 

  3. Use one of the following methods to paste the copy of the object from the Clipboard onto the template: 

    • On the main toolbar, click the icon.

    • On the Edit menu, click Paste.

    • On the object's context menu, click Paste.

    • Use the secondary mouse button to click the location where you want to place the copied object, and then click Paste. This method places the object so that its upper left corner is in the location where you clicked.

  4. Adjust the object's placement on the template as needed. For more information, refer to Moving Objects.

To copy an object to the Clipboard, press Ctrl+C on your keyboard. To paste an object, press Ctrl+V.
