BarTender supports several different types of objects to assist you in designing the look and functionality of your printed items. For example, you can create a simple text object that has static text or one that imports data at print time, a barcode object that contains product information that can be read by a barcode reader, or a picture object to be used for informative or marketing purposes. You can precisely place and configure each object that you create for your template.

• Adding Objects to the Template

  To create an object on the template, select the appropriate object in the BarTender user interface, and then click the location on the template where you want to add the object.

• Object Properties Dialog

  By using the Object Properties dialog, you can access an object's property pages and customize many aspects of the object, including linked data sources, font styles, color, and position.

• Types of Objects

  You can add several different types of objects to the template to support your design needs. These include barcode, text, line, shape, picture, and encoder objects.

• Modifying an Object's Style

  You can change font type and size and add emphasis by using bold, italicized, or underlined characters. You can specify text alignment and whether text appears as a single line, a paragraph, or a transformed text object. You can also change font, line, and fill colors.

• Arranging Objects

  BarTender supports precise object placement and alignment and the stacking, resizing, and rotating of objects. It also includes features such as object snapping and copying and pasting.

• Selecting and Modifying Multiple Objects

  You can use different methods to select multiple objects at one time and then move them and modify their properties as a group. You can use this group temporarily, or you can configure the selected objects as an object group so that you can later select the whole group again with a single click.
