Grouping Data

Records are grouped by fields using the Group by Box, accessible from the Column Properties context menu, or by defining a Custom filter from the View Selector pane. The Group by Box appears as a blue header on the active pane containing the text "Drag a column header here to group by that column". When you drag a column header (field) to the Group by Box, History Explorer will group the displayed records according to data in the specified column(s).

As an alternative to dragging column headers to the Group by Box, you can also group data using options in the Column Properties context menu. Once you have determined the field to group by, open the context menu, and select Group by Column.
