Root Folders Property Page |
The Root Folders property page allows you to specify the folders available in Print Portal from which to print BarTender documents. A root folder is a directory folder containing one or more BarTender documents and/or containing one or more sub-folders containing BarTender documents. You can specify any number of root folders.
Access the Root Folders property page by clicking Root Folders in the left Navigation Pane of the Administrative Setup page.
The following settings are available on the page:
Root Folders Pane
The Root Folders pane lists the root folders that are currently defined for Print Portal. You can select a root folder to edit its properties in the Source Folder section of the page. The toolbar below the Root Folders pane allows you to manage your root folders.
Inserts a new root folder into the Root Folders pane. Once inserted, select the new root folder and update its Source Folder and Visibility property options. For more information, refer to Creating Root Folders.
Removes the selected root folder from the list.
Removes the selected root folder from the list, but places a copy of it on Print Portal's clipboard.
Copies the selected root folder to Print Portal's clipboard.
Pastes a copy of the root folder stored on the clipboard into the root folder list.
Moves the selected root folder up one position in the list.
Moves the selected root folder down one position in the list.

The order in which the root folders are specified in the list determines the order in which they appear in the Print Portal user interface. |
Source Folder
Folder: Specifies the path to the Windows System folder or Librarian directory that contains the BarTender documents that you want to make available in Print Portal.
Browse: Allows you to browse to the folder you want to select as a root folder. After selecting a folder, the path and folder name are pasted into the Folder field.
Name: Specifies the folder name that is displayed in the Folder Navigator. Defaults to the actual folder name, but you can enter a custom name if desired.
File Filter: Filters the documents in the selected root folder based on the provided criteria. For instance, by entering "synthetic" in the File Filter field, Print Portal will display in the Document Browser only those documents that contain the word "synthetic" in the document name.
Visibility
Visible to all users: When selected, the specified root folder will be visible to all Print Portal users.
Visible to selected users and groups: When selected, the specified root folder will be visible in Print Portal to only those users and groups that you add.
Add: Opens the Add Users and Groups dialog.
Remove: Removes the selected user or group.
