Print Document Dialog |
When you click on a document in the Document Browser, the Print Document dialog opens, providing you with one or more of the following options:
|
The Print Document dialog is available when the Show print dialog option is enabled on the General property page. When this option is disabled, clicking on a document automatically initiates the print job. |
Print Preview: Opens a preview of the document as it will appear when printed, including any data pulled from connected databases or entered from query prompts or data entry forms.
Print: Starts the print job, including prompts for user input if required.
Printer
Name: Displays a dropdown list of available printers from which you can choose to print your document. When Printer selection is disabled on the Security property page, this control simply displays the name of the printer the document will print to, with no option to change the printer.
Add or Change Printers: Opens the Add or Change Printers dialog, where you can configure additional printers for use with Print Portal, or make changes to printers that are already configured for use. When authentication is enabled for Print Portal and security is enabled in Administration Console, you must enable Allow non-Administrator users to add custom print configurations on the Print Settings property page in order to allow non-administrator users the ability to add or change printers.
Quantity
|
The Quantity options can be disabled so that they do not appear on the Print Document dialog. To disable the Quantity options, select the Print Quantity option on the Security property page. |
Copies: Specifies the number of identical copies to print. The initial value comes from the value specified in the selected document. This option is not available if serialization is enabled for any data source in the document.
Serial Numbers: Specifies the number of serialized items to print. The initial value comes from the value specified in the selected document. This option is available if serialization is enabled for any data source in the document.
Copies per Serial Number: Specifies the number of identical copies to print. This option is available if serialization is enabled for any data source in the document.
|
You may want to configure Print Portal to automatically save documents after printing when the documents contain a serialized data source. This ensures that the next time you print the document, the serialized value will begin with the next number in the sequence. You can configure Print Portal to save the document after printing on the Advanced property page. |
