The New Filter dialog allows you to select an attribute to use to create a new event filter criteria.  A filter criteria defines a rule which an event must pass in order to be sent by the currently selected target.  Individual fiter criteria can be combined in various ways to create more complex rules.  See the Advanced section of the Events Page help for more information.

• Filter list: Select an event attribute from the list and click OK.  Depending on the attribute selected either the Filter by Category, Filter by Severity or Filter by Attribute dialog will be displayed to enable you to create a new filter criteria.
