Integration Builder |
BarTender Integration Builder allows you to create highly customizable integrations that let you seamlessly connect BarTender's printing capabilities with virtually any enterprise business operation. This highly customizable and powerful service lets you perform enterprise-level tasks, including:
Initiating printing automatically at "trigger" events, such as a modified database, or the arrival of an email, a saved file, or a web service request
Connecting and communicating to clients via TCP/IP, UDP or HTTP
Performing basic file operations such as move, rename, delete or copy
Integrating directly with ERP systems with direct support for SAP, Oracle or IBM WebSphere connectivity
Suppose your enterprise resource planning (ERP) system routinely drops a data file to a specific network folder location or to a cloud data store. Using Integration Builder, you can create an integration that monitors the location where the file is regularly dropped and, when a new file is dropped there, automatically performs one or more actions that you have specified. Actions may include data transformation, document printing and email generation, as well as many others.
All print jobs resulting from an integration are sent to the printers via the Print Scheduler Service. This Windows service intelligently assigns jobs to print engines to maximize performance while maintaining print order and any required serialization.
Using the Integration Builder Interface
Understanding the components of Integration Builder's user interface will assist you in the successful creation of your integrations. These components include menus, toolbars, Navigation Pane and Properties Pane, keyboard shortcuts, and context menus.
Creating and Managing Integrations
Integration Builder provides intuitive tools for selecting and configuring the integration events, connections and actions you need to automate your business processes.
Integration Builder provides predefined global and system variables that are used in integrations and actions as placeholders that represent specific information at the time the integration is triggered to execute. You can also create your own custom and global variables.
An integration method is the trigger event or connection on which you want to base your automation. Integration Builder supports numerous integration methods and provides an interface for configuring these methods to meet your needs.
Each integration you create can perform multiple actions that you would like to automate in response to the trigger event or connection. Using Integration Builder, you can configure each action separately, specify the order in which they are performed, and group specific actions together.
