Tab Order Property Page

The Tab Order property page enables you to define the tab order for controls on the data entry form. This specifies the order in which users can move from one control to another by pressing the Tab key on the keyboard. This property page is displayed when Tab Order is selected in the Navigation Pane of the Form Properties dialog.

Under the Tab Order dropdown list, the property page lists the data entry controls sorted in the order that they will be selected when the Tab key is pressed, based on the Tab Order option currently selected. This enables you to verify the option you have selected.

The list of data entry controls will not include controls for which the Exclude control from tab order option has been enabled. This option is set on the control's Data Entry property page.

Tab Order

Enables you to specify the tab order for controls on the form by selecting one of the following options:

Left to Right, then Top to Bottom: When the data entry form is first displayed, BarTender will select the control in the upper left corner of the form. As you press Tab, the object directly to the right of the object will be selected. If no object is on the right, then the object directly below the initial object will be selected.
Top to Bottom, then Left to Right: When the data entry form is first displayed, BarTender will select the control in the upper left corner of the form. As you press Tab, the object directly underneath the initial object will be selected. If no object is below, then the object to the right of the initial object will be selected.
Right to Left, then Top to Bottom: When the data entry form is first displayed, BarTender will select the control in the upper right corner of the form. As you press Tab, the object directly to the left of the object will be selected. If no object is on the left, then the object directly below the initial object will be selected.
Top to Bottom, then Right to Left: When the data entry form is first displayed, BarTender will select the control in the upper right corner of the form. As you press Tab, the object directly underneath the initial object will be selected. If no object is below, then the object to the left of the initial object will be selected.
Manually Specified: Enables you to manually specify the tab order by sorting the list of controls into the order that you want. Once enabled, you can select a control from the list and use the icon and the icon to move the control up or down in the list.
