The following tabs are available:
The Information tab shows document metadata, including description, origin, and content details. Some fields in the Information tab are editable. To edit a field, click the text to the right of a Description or Origin term and enter your edits.
Description
Title: View or enter a title for your document.
Description: View or enter a description for your document.
Categories: View or enter one or more categories for your document. Categories are usually set by your company to better organize types of documents or labels.
Products: View or enter the names of products related to your document.
Tags: View or edit tags related to your document.
Origin
Author: View or edit the author of this document. You can remove an author from the document by clicking to the right of the author's name. Click Add an author to enter an additional author name.
Company: View or enter your company name.
Document ID: View or enter a unique identification tag or number for your document.
Created: Displays the date and time when the document was created. Read only.
Last Modified: Displays the date and time that the document was last modified. Read only.
Last Modified By: Displays the name of the user who last modified the document. Read only.
Help URL: View or enter a help URL for your document.
Content
Application: Displays the application in which the document was created.
Printer: Displays the printer that the document will print on. Read only. (You can change the printer in the Print dialog for the current document.)
Template Size: Displays the measurements of the document template. Read only.
Templates: Displays the number of templates in the document. Read only.
Data Entry Forms: Displays the number of data entry forms in the document. Read only.
File Size: Displays the document file size. Read only.
The Comments tab enables you to save a comment about the current document. Comments allow you to give users information about the document, and may include instructions or detailed information about the purpose of the document. Users can view comments for the active document directly from the Comments tab.
Comments for this document: Enter comments for the current document.
Pop up comments after file open: Enable (check) to open a separate window displaying the comments each time the document is opened.
The Preview tab lets you override a document's default preview image.

Use preview of first template: Displays an image of the first template contained in the document.
Use custom preview image: Enables you to select an image to use as the preview for the selected document. To select a custom image, click Select Preview Image to open the Select Picture dialog, and navigate to the image file that you want.
Below the Preview selections, the dialog will display the selected preview image.
The View Options tab enables you to set regional settings for the document, specify the document's ruler, grid, and magnification settings, and specify whether or not the template will indicate on-screen (with a lightly dashed line) the boundary of any possible unprintable portion of your items.
The rulers along the horizontal and vertical boundaries of the user interface can help you position objects on the template. The current position of the mouse cursor is always indicated by kinetic lines in the horizontal and vertical rulers that move as you move your mouse over the template.
Regional Settings
Units: Specifies the unit of measurement to be used in the current document. You can select inches, centimeters, millimeters, or the Windows' System Default. This affects all options which are related to a measurement of horizontal or vertical distance, such as the height of a barcode, the distance of the human readable characters from a barcode, and the position of an object on the template.
Decimal Symbol: Specifies the character that is used as the displayed decimal character. You can select between point (.), comma (,), or the Windows' System Default.
Reading Order: Specifies the reading order for all edit boxes in the user interface.
Windows Settings: Opens the Windows Region dialog.
Rulers
Divisions per <unit>: Specifies the number of division marks per unit of measure on the rulers (where <unit> is inch, cm, mm, or the system default). You can specify anywhere from 1 to 100 divisions per unit. You can specify the unit of measure using the Units property in the Regional Settings section.
Snap to Object or Ruler: When enabled, snaps the alignment of moved or resized objects to divisions on the ruler, other objects, and the boundaries and center lines of the templates and forms themselves.
Grid
The rulers are supplemented by a grid system which displays a specified number of grid points (dots) or lines within the design area. The grid can be very helpful for the precise positioning and resizing of objects on the template or data entry form.
Divisions per <unit>: Specifies the number of equally spaced grid points or lines which will appear for each unit of measure in the grid (where <unit> is inch, cm, mm, or the system default). You can specify anywhere from 1 to 100 divisions per unit. You can specify the unit of measure using the Units property in the Regional Settings section.
Snap to Grid: When enabled, snaps the alignment of moved or resized objects to divisions on the grid.
Show Grid: When enabled, displays the grid in the design area.
Grid Color: Specifies the color of the grid points or lines when the grid is visible. Select the color that you want from the list of available colors. If the color you wish to use is unavailable, select More Colors to open the Colors dialog, and make your selection from the additional color choices. Alternatively, click on the Custom tab to select a custom color.
Grid Style: Specifies how the grid appears when it is visible in the design area. Options include the following:
Points: Using dots, displays only the intersection points of the grid.
Crosses: Using crosses, displays only the intersection points of the grid.
Solid Lines: Displays the grid with solid lines.
Dashed Lines: Displays the grid with dashed lines.
Dotted Lines: Displays the grid with dotted lines.

Show Unprintable Region: Specifies whether the boundary of the unprintable region of an item will be indicated on the template with a lightly dashed line.
The Scripting tab enables you to enable document level script events, select an event, and edit the event in the Visual Basic Script Editor. Script events can be used to process document level operations, or perform custom object updates during printing.
Enable document level script events: When selected, enables you to edit document-level scripts.

The General tab contains additional options for Printer Code Modifier functionality that can be integrated with BarTender documents. For more information, refer to Printer Code Modification
Printer Code Modifier
Printer Code Modifier functionality enables modification of printer code before it is sent to a printer or exported as a printer code template.
Action List: Opens the Action List dialog, allowing print code to be searched and changed.
Script:
Test: Opens the Test Printer Code Modifier dialog, allowing the Actions and VBScripts to be tested on real printer code in a file.
