The Global Data Field data source type retrieves a data source stored in the BarTender System Database. Because they are stored in a network location, global data fields can easily be shared between multiple documents and installations of BarTender. Once the data has been set in the first document, the global data field will then be available for all subsequent documents.

The Global Data Field-specific options on the Data Source tab of the Data Sources property page include:

• Field Name: Enables you to select the global data field you want from the dropdown list.

• Global Data Field Properties: Opens the Global Data Fields dialog, where you can configure the properties for the selected global data field.
