Specifying Ruler and Grid Settings

BarTender's rulers are displayed along the horizontal and vertical boundaries of the template design area. BarTender's grid supplements the rulers by allowing you to display a specific number of grid points along each axis of the viewing area. These features can be very useful while designing templates, especially when positioning and/or resizing objects precisely.

To specify the ruler settings

  1. From the View menu, select View Options to open the BarTender Document Options dialog.

  2. On the View tab, enter the number of divisions you want for each unit of measure in the Divisions option of the Rulers section.

  3. If you want to position and size objects according to the ruler's coordinates, enable the Snap to Object or Ruler check box. Alternatively, you can enable Snap to Object or Ruler at any time by selecting the icon on the view toolbar. For more information, refer to Object Snapping.
