Named Data Sources Dialog |
Named data sources are data sources attached to the document that are not specific to a single object on the document. Named data sources allow you to attach a single data source, such as a database field, to multiple objects. By doing so, you can update the values of all linked objects simply by changing the value of the single named data source. For an example of how named data sources can be used, refer to Named Data Sources Example.
Named data sources are maintained using the Named Data Sources dialog, which contains options almost identical to those on the Data Source property page. You can access the Named Data Sources dialog using one of the following methods:
From the Data Sources pane of the Toolbox, open the context menu for Named Data Sources. Select Manage Named Data Sources from the context menu.
From the Data Sources pane of the toolbox, double-click on an existing named data source.
From the When to Print dialog, click Manage Named Data Sources.
