Modifying an Existing ODBC Data Source |
Sometimes, if a database has been moved or renamed, you may need to modify an ODBC Data Source that you previously created. Follow the procedure below if you need to modify an existing named ODBC data source.
|
If the ODBC data source you are modifying is needed by one of your other Windows programs, you should create a new data source, rather than modify an existing one. |
Select Database Connection Setup from the File menu to open the Database Connection Setup dialog. Alternatively, select the icon from the main toolbar.
From the All Database Tree View, select an existing named ODBC data source.
Select the Options tab.
Click Setup or ODBC Administrator. The button that you select will depend upon the changes you wish to make to the ODBC data source.
Modify the settings in the ODBC Setup dialog or ODBC Administrator as necessary for your needs. Note that the most common modifications made to data sources are to change the name of the data source and modify the specified file directory or database name (which controls which files the ODBC data source will be able to access). The ODBC drivers used by some data sources may display additional settings specific to that driver.
