Using the Save As Command |
The Save As command, available from the File menu, allows you to rename existing documents, save newly created documents, or copy existing documents to a new location on your computer.
When using the Save As command to save an existing document, you have the option of specifying a new file name or using the existing name. In general, if you no longer need to keep the old document specifications, save your changes using the existing file name. However, if you need to maintain a copy of the existing document for any reason, save the changes using a unique file name.
When you select the Save As command,
Location. Display the names of the available drives on your computer. The currently specified drive is displayed at the top of the list. The contents of the selected drive are listed directly below the Location.
File Name. Specifies a unique name for the document that you want to save.
File Type. Specifies the
Location Shortcuts. Displays common directories on your computer. These shortcuts will bring you directly to the location of that folder.
