Changing an Object's Color |
The Color control enables you to specify the color of objects on the template or of the template itself.
For template objects, you can find the Color control on various property pages of the object's Properties dialog, as well as on the text toolbar and on the line and shape toolbar. For the template itself, you can find the Color control on the Color mini-tab, located on the Background tab of the Page Setup dialog.

Barcode scanners cannot read colored barcodes as well as barcodes printed with black toner or ribbon. For this reason, it is recommended that you do not modify the color of barcode objects, unless they are used for decoration only. |
To change an object's color from the Object Properties dialog
On the template, select the object whose color you want to change.
Open the Object Properties dialog by double-clicking on the object. Alternatively, select Properties from the object's context menu.
Select the appropriate property page for the property whose color you want to change.
Click on the Color control and select the desired color from the list of available colors. For more advanced options, consider the following:
If the color you wish to use is unavailable, select More Colors to open the Colors dialog, and make your selection from the additional color choices. Alternatively, click on the Custom tab to select a custom color.
If you prefer to add a more complex visual element to the property such as a gradient color, pattern, texture, or picture, select More Fill Options to open the More Fill Options dialog.
Click Close to close the Object Properties dialog.
To change an object's color using the
On the template, select the object whose color you want to change.
Click on the toolbar shortcut for the Color control and select the desired color from the list of available colors. For more advanced options, consider the following:
If the color you wish to use is unavailable, select More Colors to open the Colors dialog, and make your selection from the additional color choices. Alternatively, click on the Custom tab to select a custom color.
If you prefer to add a more complex visual element to the property such as a gradient color, pattern, texture, or picture, select More Fill Options to open the More Fill Options dialog.

Toolbar shortcuts for the Color control are not available for all properties, For some properties you can only access the Color dialog from the property page itself. For example, if you want to select a color for a text object's border, you must do this from the Border property page of the Text Properties dialog, |
To change the template's color
Select Page Setup from the File menu to open the Page Setup dialog. Alternatively, select on the main toolbar or double-click on a blank area of the template.
Click the Background tab, if it is not already selected.
Click the Color mini-tab.
Click on the Color control for the Background Color and select the desired color from the list of available colors. For more advanced options, consider the following:
If the color you wish to use is unavailable, select More Colors to open the Colors dialog, and make your selection from the additional color choices. Alternatively, click on the Custom tab to select a custom color.
If you prefer to add a more complex visual element to the property such as a gradient color, pattern, texture, or picture, select More Fill Options to open the More Fill Options dialog.
Click OK to close the Page Setup dialog.
