Expanded Tolerance |
Each barcode type specifies a tolerance on the printed widths of bars and spaces, and contrast between bars and spaces. Color field tolerances are primarily determined by the quiet zone requirements for the Data Matrix symbology. This value, a recommended space of 3X, checks for the color field presence.
When Expanded Tolerance is checked, the color fields can be placed farther apart instead of using the standard tolerances. This allows for printing techniques that can not guarantee the required precise dimensions because of the different steps necessary to print the individual colors.
The total symbol size will increase when Expanded Tolerance is enabled.
