Advanced Position Settings Dialog

For simplicity, the following discussion uses templates and objects to describe the template reference point, but all information is also relevant to data entry forms and controls.

Each object has a unique template reference point set separately from those of other objects. BarTender uses this template reference point, as well as the object reference point and the object's X and Y coordinates, to position the object on the template. The Advanced Position Settings dialog, accessible from an object's Position property page, enables you to select the template reference point for that object.

The available template reference point options are shown as red boxes on the following image. Top Left is the default.

In the following images, the red boxes demonstrate the reference point options and are for visual aid only. They do not appear on the actual template or object.

If the template is elliptical or has rounded corners, the nine possible reference points are the center and around the perimeter of an invisible rectangle whose lines intersect the template at its highest, lowest, rightmost, and leftmost points.

For more information about template reference points and an example of how the template reference point is used to position an object, see Understanding Reference Points.
