Print Console View

The Print Console view displays the documents that are available for printing. To display this view, click on the toolbar, and then click Print Console.

The Print Console view includes the following components.

Folder Navigation Pane

The folder navigation pane on the left side of the view displays the hierarchy of folders and subfolders that contain BarTender documents, so that you can browse to and print the document that you want. When you select a folder in the navigation pane, the subfolders and documents in that folder are displayed in the document selection pane to the right of the navigation pane.

Note: Administrators can specify whether to display the folder navigation pane by using the Show folder navigator setting on the Printing tab of the Settings view.

Toolbar

The following options are available on the Print Console view toolbar:

  • View: Specifies whether items are displayed as large icons or small icons and whether comments that were added to a BarTender document by using the BarTender Document Options dialog are shown.

  • Group By: Specifies a filter by which to group items. Filters include author name, category, tag, and product type.

  • Sort By: Specifies the criterion by which to sort the items.

  • Refresh: Reloads the content in the Print Console view.

  • Search: Searches for items by name or partial name.

The toolbar also includes a breadcrumb trail that you can use to navigate to the parent folders of the items that are displayed in the document selection pane.

Document Selection Pane

When you select a folder in the navigation pane, the subfolders and documents in that folder are displayed in the document selection pane. Click a folder to browse to the document that you want, and then click the document to open the Print page. For more information, refer to Print Page.

Note: Administrators can specify whether to display the folders in the document selection pane by using the Show folders in browser setting on the Printing tab of the Settings view.
