Moving Objects

You can move an object by using a drag-and-drop operation, by entering values on the Position property page, or by using the arrow keys on your keyboard.

When you move objects this way, the movement behavior varies depending on whether object snapping is turned on. When object snapping is turned on, BarTender automatically assists you in aligning the object based on other objects, ruler division marks, and template and data entry form grids. For more information, refer to Object Snapping.

ClosedTo move an object by using the Position property page

  1. Double-click the object that you want to move. The Object Properties dialog opens.

  2. In the navigation pane, click Position. The Position property page opens.

  3. In the X and Y fields, enter the x-coordinate and y-coordinate that you want for the object's anchor location, as measured from the origin point.

  4. Click Close to close the Object Properties dialog.

ClosedTo move an object by using the keyboard arrow keys

  1. Click to select the object that you want to move.

  2. Use the keyboard's left and right arrow keys to move the object horizontally and the up and down arrow keys to move the object vertically to the location that you want.
