Symbol Type |
Like most 2-D barcodes, the Data Matrix symbology supports error correction by encoding enough redundant information into the printed symbol to enable the scanner to detect and correct errors. Use the Symbol Type option to specify the type of error correction to use when you create a Data Matrix barcode. Data Matrix supports fourteen levels of error correction.
The default error correction level in BarTender for Data Matrix is ECC 200. If ECC 200 is not used, ECC 140 provides the best error correction, although it prints a significantly larger symbol than the lower-numbered ECC versions. You can use a lower error correction level to reduce the symbol size.
