GS1 Digital Link |
When you use a GS1 QR Code, rMQR Code, or GS1 DataMatrix symbol, you can add a GS1 Digital Link, which is a Web URI that also represents GS1 identification keys. By using the GS1 Digital Link option, your symbol can support both product identification and a link to online material that comply with the GS1 standard.
A GS1 Digital Link can act as a globally unambiguous name for an item and simultaneously provide a way to retrieve information from the web about the item. The link includes the http:// or https:// prefix, a hostname (such as www.example.com), and path information. The link can also be extended to include a query string (which enables key/value pairs to be sent to a web resource) and an optional fragment identifier (which is typically used to provide a link to a subsection of a web resource).
A sample GS1 Digital Link Web URI is as follows:
https://example.com/01/614141123452

When you use the GS1 Digital Link option, you can add a Clock data source to the barcode properties, but the Use Printer's Clock option on the Data Source tab of the Data Sources property page is not supported. |
For more information about the GS1 Digital Link Web URI, refer to the GS1 Web URI Structure Standard document.
