Security Property Page |
The Security property page is located in the RFID Tags Properties dialog for tags that support security features, such as locking the tags after encoding. These access control settings are supported on a global basis by the printer driver's RFID Options page, but you can use the Security property page to specify different passwords for each document or even for each database record.
The following options are available:
Use driver's settings: Specifies that the global access control settings that are defined by the printer driver are used for the tag.
Specify security settings for this document: Specifies the access control settings for the tag, which override any settings that are selected in the printer driver's Properties dialog. Passwords for the various memory blocks can use data from a constant data source (per document), from database fields (per record), or from named data sources.
|
Only the passwords that are being used can vary per database record. The blocks that are being manipulated (locked, unlocked, and so on) cannot change per record. For example, if you set EPC/UII Block to Lock, it will then attempt to lock each time, but the password that is used for the lock can be pulled per-record from a database source. |
Access Control
The access control settings that are available on the Security property page depend on the type of RFID tag that you are using.
