Color Adjustment

• Contrast: Adjusts the difference of tone between light and dark colors. Move the slider to the left to decrease the difference between colors and to the right to increase the difference.

• Brightness: Adjusts the brightness level of colors in the selected image. Move the slider to the left to darken the image and to the right to lighten the image.

• Hue: Adjusts the color of the selected image. When you adjust an image's hue, the base color of the image rotates around the color wheel while maintaining its brightness and saturation. Move the slider to the left or right to change the colors in the image on a scale of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, or violet.

• Saturation: Adjusts the amount of color in the selected image. Move the slider to the left to make the colors appear more gray and to the right to make the colors more vivid.

Blur and Sharpen

• Blur/Sharpen: Adjusts the clarity of the selected image. When you blur an image, you soften it by decreasing the contrast of the edges. When you sharpen an image, you make it more distinct and clear by increasing the contrast of the edges.

Straighten

• Rotate: Specifies a rotation angle of the selected image in tenths of a degree. If you enter a positive number, the image is rotated counterclockwise. If you enter a negative number, the image is rotated clockwise.

• Shear: Specifies a shear angle of the selected image in tenths of a degree. If you enter a positive number, the top of the image is horizontally sheared to the left. If you enter a negative number, the top of the image is horizontally sheared to the right.

When you use the Rotate or Shear options, the effects are applied to the image before any cropping is done. To rotate an image after you crop it, use the Rotation option on the Position property page.

You can use BarTender to remove portions of an image so that only a part of the original image remains through the cropping process. Use cropping to reduce the overall size of an image without changing the size of the image content or the resolution of the image.

Use the Cropping tab to use your mouse to select the portion of the image that you want to keep on your template. Additionally, you can crop sections from the sides of your image by manually entering values into the Crop Size options.

Crop Size (pixels)

• Left: Specifies the number of pixels to remove from the left side.

• Right: Specifies the number of pixels to remove from the right side.

• Top: Specifies the number of pixels to remove from the top side.

• Bottom: Specifies the number of pixels to remove from the bottom side.

Use the Effects tab to apply advanced formatting options to the image. When you change any of the settings, the image that is displayed on the template is updated to reflect the changes. By using the Effects tab, you can flip an image, invert the colors, or change the transparency of the selected image.

Effects

• Mirror Horizontal: Flips the image about the horizontal axis.

• Mirror Vertical: Flips the image about the vertical axis.

• Negative (Inverse Colors): Inverts the colors of the image. The dark areas of the selected image become bright, and bright areas become dark, like a photographic negative.

• Transparency: Specifies the degree to which the background color that is under the image can be seen. The range is from 0 (opaque) to 100 (completely transparent). For more information, refer to Transparency.
