In BarTender, you can define how the system responds when messages are generated while you design templates or print items.
In the Log Setup dialog, click to select the Log messages to System Database check box. In the Severity Level list, select Custom, and then click Select. The Select Messages: Log to Database dialog opens.
In the Text File Log Message Setup dialog, click Select under Messages. The Select Messages: Log To File dialog opens.
In the Alert Setup dialog, click Select Messages. The Select Messages: Email Alerts dialog opens.
In the dialog, select the messages that you want by using one of the following methods:
In the upper right corner of the dialog, click one of the message type buttons. When you do this, all messages of the selected category (error, warning, or information) are selected.
Click to select the check box for the messages that you want.
The message grid lists the options and details for all of the messages that you might encounter while you use BarTender. These include the following:
: Selects the message.
!: Identifies the severity of the message (error, warning, or information).
Message: Displays the content of the message.
Category: Identifies the component of BarTender that generated the message, such as Database, Licensing, or Printing.
ID: Displays the message's unique identification number.
Reset to Defaults: Restores the items in the Select Messages dialog to their default settings.
You can save and reuse specific configurations of the Select Messages dialog by saving a copy of the settings as an XML file to your computer or network. This process creates a record of the dialog settings that you can use to configure new installations.
Import: Opens the Import File dialog, which you can use to load a previously saved *.btmsgs file that contains the settings from a copy of the Select Messages dialog.
Export: Opens the Export File dialog, which you can use to save a *.btmsgs file that contains the current settings that are configured in the Select Messages dialog.
