Data Entry Field

Use the Data Entry Field data source to populate the contents of a template object with an Embedded Data data source that is linked to data from a data entry control on the data entry form. When you do this, data that the print operator enters in the connected control on the data entry form appears on the template at print time.

ClosedTo create a text object that is linked to a Data Entry Field data source

  1. In the data entry form, create the data entry control that you want to link to.

  2. On the template, in the Toolbox, click the Data Sources tab to show the Data Sources pane.

  3. If necessary, expand the Data Entry Fields node to display a list of the data entry controls on the data entry form.

  4. Drag the Data Entry Field data source that you want from the Data Sources pane to the location on the template where you want the object.

You can configure the properties of this data source by using the Data Sources property page of the Object Properties dialog. In the navigation pane of the Object Properties dialog, each Data Entry Field source is identified as an Embedded Data data source. For more information about the properties that you can specify and the types of data that you can select for the data source value, refer to Data Sources Property Page.

You can also replace an existing data source with a Data Entry Field data source or add a Data Entry Field data source to an object's already existing data sources. For information about how to do this, refer to Configuring Data Sources.
