For this tutorial, you need two BarTender documents (*.btw): one simple document that has no data entry form and one document that requires form data for printing.

• Simple document: For the simple document, create a document that has only a template and no data entry form, and then save the document in Librarian. In the tutorial examples, this document is called Document1.btw. If you are using workflows, this document must be in a production state so that it is available to the Print Portal API.

• Form data document: For the form data document, use TLC39 Laser_53_rf.btw, which is included in the Print Portal installation, in the Print Portal Template collection. This document is selected for the tutorial because its limited data entry form requirements are sufficient for illustrating form data submission at print request.

  To use this document for the tutorial, follow these steps:

  1. Copy TLC39 Laser_53_rf.btw to your desktop from the following folder: 

     \\inetpub\wwwroot\BarTender\wwwroot\Templates\Telecommunications\TLC 39\

  2. Add the copied TLC39 Laser_53_rf.btw document to your root Librarian folder, and then make sure that the state is set to production.

  If you have enabled a workflow, make sure that the production state is enabled. For more information about how to enable the production state, refer to the Understanding Librarian Workflows technical document.
