Adding Sample Data to an Integration

You can add sample data to an integration from the following sources:

The method that you use to add a sample to an integration and the process by which you add the sample depend on whether you are working in the Create view or the Test view.

ClosedCreate View

ClosedTo add a sample

  1. Click the Create tab, and then click to select the integration that you want in the Integrations pane.

  2. Click Input Data in the integration components pane to view the Input Data property page.

  3. In the Samples area of the property page, click New Sample (if this is the first sample to be added) or Add (if samples were previously added) to start the Sample Data wizard, and then click to select one of the following source options:

    • Input Data File

    • Capture Integration Event

    • Last Integration Event

    • Sample Data File

    • Custom Data

  4. Follow the rest of the wizard to configure the sample as needed.

ClosedTo import a sample file

  1. Click the Create tab, and then click to select the integration that you want in the Integrations pane.

  2. Click Input Data in the integration components pane to view the Input Data property page.

  3. In the Samples area of the property page, click .

  4. In the Open File dialog, click the file that you want to import, and then click Open. The file appears in the Samples list.

ClosedTest View

ClosedTo add a sample

  1. On the Test tab ribbon, click Add, and then click one of the following source options to start the Sample Data wizard:

    • Sample from {Integration Type} Capture

    • Sample from Last Integration Event

    • Sample from File

    • Sample Manually

    • Sample Wizard

    When you click Sample from File on the Add menu, the Open File dialog opens. Double-click the file that you want, and then click Open. The Sample Data wizard starts.

  2. Follow the steps in the wizard to configure the sample as needed.

ClosedTo capture an event from your ERP system to use as sample data

  1. Make sure that the integration is stopped, and then click Capture. The Sample Data wizard starts.

  2. Use the wizard to name and capture an integration event from the integration.

    The integration runs when you complete the wizard. The integration actions are not run during the process of capturing the integration event.

ClosedTo capture an event from the integration status pane to use as sample data

  1. In the Integration Events area or Messages tab of the integration status pane, click the event or message that you want to capture, and then click . The Sample Data wizard starts.

  2. Use the wizard to name and capture an integration event from the integration.

    The integration runs when you complete the wizard. The integration actions are not run during the process of capturing the integration event.

ClosedTo capture an event from the Message Details dialog to use as sample data

  1. In the Integration Events area or Messages tab of the integration status pane, click for the event or message that you want to capture. The Message Details dialog opens.

  2. Click . The Sample Data wizard starts.

  3. Use the wizard to name and capture an integration event from the integration.

    The integration runs when you complete the wizard. The integration actions are not run during the process of capturing the integration event.
