Database Connections Page

Named database connections make it easy for you to use the same database connection among different BarTender documents, Process Builder process files, and Integration Builder integration files. A named database connection saves your connection properties and parameters so that you don't have to re-enter them every time you use them in a BarTender, Process Builder, or Integration Builder file. If the connection parameters change, you can edit them in one place rather than in each file that uses the connection.

Use the Database Connections page of Administration Console to add, modify, delete, rename, or clone a named database connection. The pane on the left lists the named database connections that you have added. The pane on the right displays information about the selected named database connection.

The Database Connections page contains the following options:

When you modify the configuration settings for a named database connection, all other documents and connections in other BarTender applications that use the named database connection are affected.

When you delete a named database connection, you remove it from the list and also delete it from the system. As a result, existing BarTender, Process Builder, and Integration Builder files that reference the connection no longer function correctly, because the connection no longer exists.

You can also create and configure named database connections in other applications in the BarTender Suite.
