Internet Mail Setup Dialog |
Use the Internet Mail Setup dialog to configure or create the Mail/Messaging system profile that BarTender uses to send messages. Unless you specify otherwise, BarTender uses the default profile of the computer's currently logged-on user.
To open this dialog, click Setup on the Alert Setup dialog when Internet Mail (SMTP) is selected for the Mail System option.
Sending Account
From: Specifies the name or alias that appears with the email address in the From field of the notification.
Email Address: Specifies the email address in the From field of the notification.
Requires Authentication: Specifies that the mail server requires a user to log on before it sends email messages.
User name: Specifies the logon name of the user whose email account is used by BarTender. Available when the Requires Authentication option is selected.
Password: Specifies the password for the user name. Available when the Requires Authentication option is selected.
Outgoing Mail Options (SMTP)
Mail Server: Specifies the name or location of the mail server.
Port: Specifies the port that is used when communicating with the mail server.
Timeout: Specifies the amount of time that elapses before BarTender stops trying to send email messages.
Encoding: Specifies the encoding scheme that is used for the text of the email message.
To make sure that BarTender can communicate with the mail server, click Test.
