Events Pane Messages |
Use the Events Pane Messages dialog to select the event messages that you want to display in the Events Pane.
The message list includes all possible event messages, which are displayed in rows that have one row per message. The information for each row is displayed in three fields. You can change the order of the fields by dragging a column header to a new position. The available fields are as follows:
ID: Specifies the message ID number.
Severity: Specifies the message severity. Each message is classified as an error, a warning, or an informational message.
Message: Specifies the text of the message. Text that is surrounded by brackets, such as {example}, is replaced with information that relates to the specific event when that message is sent.
You can group the rows in the message list by category or type, or you can leave the rows ungrouped. You can change the grouping by clicking Group By on the context menu. By default, the rows are grouped by category.
You can sort the rows in the message list by field. To do this, click a field's column header. Click a second time to toggle between ascending and descending sort order. You can specify a secondary sort order by holding the Shift key and then clicking the column header of a different field. Rows are sorted only within their respective groups. By default, the message rows are unsorted.
You can select rows individually or in groups. When you use the secondary mouse button to click a row, a context menu is also displayed.
When you use the secondary mouse button to click the message list, a context menu is displayed. The available options are as follows:
Clear Selection: Cancels the selection of all messages that are currently selected.
Select All: Selects all messages in the list.
Group By: Displays a menu that you can use to change how the message rows are grouped.
