Add Computers Dialog |
Typically, computers that run the Printer Maestro service are automatically detected by using the UDP protocol. However, this process does not work in all network environments. UDP can be unreliable on wireless networks, and UDP broadcasts do not pass subnet boundaries. If a computer is not detected automatically, you can use the Add Computers dialog, which you can access on the Computers menu, to add a specific computer or to search the network for new computers that have the Printer Maestro service installed.
After you start a search, the progress bar and the Computers scanned, New computers found, and Computers already known fields are updated to indicate the progress of the search. The search for new computers can take several minutes.
The following options are available:
Add computer by name: Specifies the name of a particular computer to add.
Search Active Directory: Specifies that all computers that are registered with Active Directory are searched for the Printer Maestro service.
Search domain: Specifies that the specified domain is searched for new computers. You can select a domain from the list or manually enter a domain name.
Search workgroup: Specifies that the specified workgroup is searched for new computers. You can select a workgroup from the list or manually enter a workgroup.
Start: Starts the search.
Stop: Stops the current search. It may take several seconds for the search to stop.
Close: Stops the current search and closes the dialog.
