The easiest way to stretch a text object that contains a single line of data is to use the mouse to drag the text object's sizing handles. After you stretch a text object in this way, you can use the Scale option, which is located on the Font property page, to view exactly how much the text object was distorted from normal.

You can also enter a value into the Scale option to specify the factor by which a text object is either compressed or stretched horizontally. The default setting for all text objects is 100 percent, but you can increase or decrease this number as needed. A number that is greater than 100 stretches your text, and a number that is less than 100 compresses your text.
