For EPC Gen 2 (ISO 18000-6C) tags, the Access Control settings specify whether a particular memory block type is open or locked. The specific memory blocks available, and the available settings you can specify for those memory blocks, depend on the printer you have selected for the document. When a memory block is locked, an encoder cannot alter the data in the specified memory block.

• EPC Block: Specifies that the EPC memory block is open or locked.

• User Block: Specifies that the user memory block is open or locked.

• Range: Opens the User Memory Access Control Options dialog, where you can specify the blocks of the user memory bank to lock. Available only when you have chosen an EPC Gen 2 (ISO 18000-6C) tag and also selected Lock Permanently for the User Block property. Then the Range button is enabled, and you can open the User Memory Access Control Options dialog.

• TID Block: Specifies that the TID memory block is open or locked.

• Access Password: Specifies that the access password memory block is open or locked.

• Kill Password: Specifies that the kill password memory block is either open or locked.

Access Password

• New Password: A read-only field that displays the password you define on the New Password dialog. Click to the right of the field to open the New Password dialog and define a password.

• Old Password: A read-only field that displays the password you define on the Old Password dialog. Click to the right of the field to open the Old Password dialog and define a password. Available to those tags that include a memory block unlock and/or relock setting.

Kill Password

• Modify Kill Password: When enabled, allows you to specify a new kill password.

• New Kill Password: A read-only field that displays the password you define on the Kill Password dialog. Click to the right of the field to open the Kill Password dialog and define a password. Available when Modify Kill Password has been enabled.

• Access Control: Specifies the setting you want for the memory blocks. The following options are available: 

• Open: Specifies that the memory blocks are open.

• Lock Permanently: Locks the specified number of blocks permanently. An encoder cannot alter the data in the locked blocks.

• Blocks To Lock: Specifies the number of blocks to lock. The starting block is always 0.

• Lock With Password: Specifies that an encoder cannot alter the data in the locked blocks unless the password is provided.

• Password: A read-only field that displays the password you define on the Access Password dialog. Click to the right of the field to open the Access Password dialog and define a password.
