Changing an Object's Font Style

You can change the font style of barcode and text objects by using the object's Font property page. For barcode objects, these options affect only the human readable characters.

  1. Open the Object Properties dialog. To do this, double-click the object. Alternatively, right-click the object, and then click Properties.

  2. In the left navigation pane, click Font to open the Font property page.

When you are editing a text object, you can also change the font style by using the Fonts dialog, which you can open from the on-screen editing context menu and which includes the same property options as the Font property page.

  1. Click inside the text object.

  2. Open the on-screen editing context menu by using one of the following methods: 

    • Use the secondary mouse button to click an existing data source (that is not an Embedded Data data source).

    • Select one or more characters of an Embedded Data data source, and then use the secondary mouse button to click the selected content.

  3. Click Font. The Fonts dialog opens.

You can also change some font styles by using the buttons and controls that are provided on the text toolbar.

Specifies the typeface family of the text in the selected object.

Specifies the point size of the text in the selected object.

Applies the bold font style to the text of the selected object. If the bold font style is currently applied to the text, you can click this icon to remove the font style.

Applies the italicized font style to the selected text. If the italicized font style is currently applied to the text, you can click this icon to remove the font style.

Applies the underlined font style to the selected text. If the underlined font style is currently applied to the text, you can click this icon to remove the font style.

Applies the strikethrough font style to the selected text. If the strikethrough font style is currently applied to the text, you can click this icon to remove the font style.

Applies the subscript font style to the selected text so that the text is offset below the baseline and slightly reduced in font size. If the subscript font style is currently applied to the text, you can click this icon to remove the font style.

Applies the superscript font style to the selected text so that the text is offset above the baseline and slightly reduced in font size. If the superscript font style is currently applied to the text, you can click this icon to remove the font style.

Displays the currently selected color of the selected text. To select a different color, click this option, and then use the Color Picker to select the color that you want. For more information, refer to Changing an Object's Color.

Displays the currently selected text background color for the selected text. To select a different color, click this option, and then use the Color Picker to select the color that you want. For more information, refer to Changing an Object's Color.

Applies the white-on-black font style to the selected text so that the text appears as white characters on a black background. If the white on black font style is currently applied to the text, you can click this icon to remove the font style.
