Advanced Position Settings Dialog

For simplicity, the following content uses objects to describe the origin point, but it also applies to controls on a data entry form.

Each object has a unique origin point that is configured separately from that of other objects. BarTender uses this origin point, the object's anchor, and the object's x-coordinate and y-coordinate, to position the object on the template. Use the Advanced Position Settings dialog, which you can access from an object's Position property page, to select the origin point for an object.

The following options are available.

Origin Point

X is relative to: Specifies the relative location of the x-coordinate. Options include the left, center, or right of the template, form, or page (when you configure an object on a page template).
Y is relative to: Specifies the relative location of the y-coordinate. Options include the top, center, or bottom of the template, form, or page (when you configure an object on a page template).

When you update the position of an origin point, BarTender automatically updates the x-coordinate and y-coordinate to values that reflect the object's current position rather than moving the object based on the new setting.
