The Data Edit dialog is available when you are editing a barcode or encoder object. You can use the dialog as an alternative to using the Data Sources property page when you want to edit the value of the object's Embedded Data data source or the sample data of the object's Database Field data source.

To open the Data Edit dialog

The following options are available:

• Data Source: Specifies the data source whose value you want to modify. Available when the selected object has two or more data sources.

• Embedded Data: Specifies the value that you want for the data source. To enter a Tab character, use the Ctrl+Tab keyboard combination. Available when you are editing an Embedded Data data source.

• Database Field Sample Data: Enter the sample value or characters that you want to be displayed as sample data for the Database Field data source. To enter a Tab character, use the Ctrl+Tab keyboard combination. Available when you are editing a Database Field data source.

• Data Source: Opens the Object Properties dialog for the selected object. By using the Object Properties dialog, you can edit additional properties for the data source and access any other data sources that belong to the object.
