Clock

Use the Clock data source to read the date and time from a system or printer clock when the document is printed. By selecting a Time data type for the data source, you can specify that the data source includes only the time, and specify the time format you want to display on your printed items. By selecting a Date data type for the data source, you can specify a format for the data source that includes only the date or a combination of the date and time.

ClosedTo create a text object that has a Clock data source

  1. In the Toolbox, click the Data Sources tab to show the Data Sources pane.

  2. Drag a preconfigured Clock data source (Time or Date) from the Data Sources pane to the location on the template where you want the object. The Data Type dialog opens.

  3. Select the data type properties that you want for the Clock data source.

  4. Click OK to close the dialog.

You can configure the properties of this data source by using the Data Sources property page of the Object Properties dialog. You can identify a Clock data source in the navigation pane of the Object Properties dialog by the icon. You can also replace an existing data source with a Clock data source or add a Clock data source to an object's already existing data sources. For more information about how to do this, refer to Configuring Data Sources.
