Print Portal is a web-based application that provides an interface for selecting and printing BarTender documents. When you integrate it with Librarian, you can use Print Portal to access documents that are stored in Librarian and add comments, review document revisions, compare revisions, and send documents that are assigned to workflows through the workflow states.

A web server hosts Print Portal, which makes BarTender documents accessible to other computers and mobile devices over the intranet or Internet. Users can print documents by using a web client interface to select the document that they want to print. You can securely deploy Print Portal so that not only internal users but also external users (such as outside suppliers or vendors) can use your configuration.

By using Print Portal, users can do the following:

• View BarTender documents by icons or details

• Search for BarTender documents by keyword

• Group and sort BarTender documents to make browsing quicker

• Preview documents and print them by using a single click

• Enable authentication and other security measures

• Enable external users to select documents that are shared with them over the Internet to print to printers on their production floor

When Print Portal is integrated with Librarian, users can also do the following:

• View the revision history for a Librarian document

• Advance a Librarian document through its workflow states

• View the revision comments that are tracked in Librarian

Print Portal is not automatically installed with BarTender. For installation information, refer to Installing BarTender Print Portal in the Getting Started with BarTender section of the BarTender help system.

• Using Print Portal: Describes the user interface, how to find and print documents, and how to use Librarian revision functionality to manage documents.

• Configuring Print Portal: Describes how to configure administrative settings for Print Portal, including how to specify the directory folders that are displayed and enable user authentication and other security measures.

• Automating Print Portal: Describes how to automate certain print tasks and functions by adding query parameters to the Print Portal URL for your document or by using the Print Portal REST API.
