Use the License Setup page to view detailed license information from all license servers that have at least one license. By using this page, you can activate, deactivate, and refresh a license; activate a new license; create and manage license partitions; and specify which users can use a specific license. You can also create and manage license printer pools or blocks of printer licenses that belong to specific users or groups.
This page includes the following tabs.
The Licenses tab lists all license servers that have at least one license and the licenses that are activated on each server. Click a server name to view the license information for that server. The following options are available:
: Provides options to move the selected server to a different position in the list of servers.
Activate a new License: Starts the BarTender Licensing wizard, which you can use to enter a product key code to activate a new BarTender license for the selected license server.
: Provides the following options:
Deactivate License: Starts the BarTender Licensing wizard, which you can use to deactivate the selected license.
Refresh License: Refreshes the selected license.
Switch to This License: Specifies that the selected license becomes the new current license that the local installation of BarTender will use.
Move to top: Moves the selected license to the top of the list.
Move up: Moves the selected license one position up in the list.
Move down: Moves the selected license one position down in the list.
Move to bottom and collapse: Moves the selected license to the bottom of the list and collapses it. You can click the license to expand it again.
License information: Provides the following information about the license:
Name: Specifies the name of the license. You can enter a new name in the Name field.
Edition: Specifies the license edition.
Latest Supported Version: Specifies the latest version of BarTender that the license supports.
Maximum printer count: Specifies the maximum number of printers that the license supports.
Printers used: Specifies the number of printers that have been used with the license in the stated time period.
Peak printer usage: Specifies the highest number of printers that have been used with the license in the stated time period.
Product Key Code: Specifies the product key code (PKC) for the license.
Support Number: Specifies the license number to be used in case technical support is required for the license.
Activation Date: Specifies the license's activation date.
Support Expiration Date: Specifies the date on which license support expires.
Status: Specifies the status of the license.
License Partitions: Provides detailed information about the license partitions that are configured for the license and about which printer pool each partition is assigned to.
Create a new partition: Opens the Create a New Partition dialog, which you can use to create and configure a new license partition and assign it to a printer pool.
: Opens the Edit Selected Partition dialog, which you can use to edit the partition settings.
: Deletes the selected partition.
: Opens the Printer usage details dialog, which displays detailed information about the printers in the selected partition.
User Access Control: Displays the user access control rules that specify which users are allowed to use the selected license.
Add a new rule: Opens the User Access Control Rule dialog, which you can use to create a new user access control rule for the license.
: Opens the User Access Control Rule dialog, which you can use to edit the selected user access control rule.
: Deletes the selected user access control rule.
The Printer Pools tab lists all license servers that have at least one license and the printer pools that are associated with each server. Click a server name to view the printer pool information for that server. The following options are available:
: Provides options to move the selected server to a different position in the list of servers.
Create a new Printer Pool: Opens the Create a new Printer Pool dialog, which you can use to specify a name and optional description for a new printer pool.
: Provides the following options:
Delete Printer Pool: Deletes the selected printer pool.
Move to top: Moves the selected printer pool to the top of the list.
Move up: Moves the selected printer pool one position up in the list.
Move down: Moves the selected printer pool one position down in the list.
Move to bottom and collapse: Moves the selected printer pool to the bottom of the list and collapses it. You can click the printer pool to expand it again.
Printer pool information: Provides the following information about the printer pool:
Name: Specifies the name of the printer pool. You can enter a new name in the Name field.
Description: Specifies a description for the printer pool.
Maximum printer count: Specifies the maximum number of printers that the printer pool supports.
Peak printer usage: Specifies the highest number of printers that have been used in the printer pool in the stated time period.
Edition: Specifies the BarTender edition that the printer pool supports.
Latest Supported Version: Specifies the latest version of BarTender that the printer pool supports.
Total Submitted Job Count: Specifies the total number of print jobs that have been submitted to the printer pool.
Total Printed Label Count: Specifies the total number of labels that have been printed by the printer pool.
License Partitions: Provides detailed information about the printer allocations that are configured for the partition.
Select partitions: Opens the Select License Partitions dialog, which you can you to add license partitions to the printer pool.
: Deletes the selected partition.
: Opens the Printer usage details dialog, which displays detailed information about the printers in the selected partition.
User Access Control: Provides detailed information about the user access control rules that are configured for the printer pool.
Add a new rule: Opens the User Access Control Rule dialog, which you can use to create a new user access control rule for the printer pool.
: Opens the User Access Control Rule dialog, which you can use to edit the selected user access control rule.
: Deletes the selected user access control rule.
