Barcode Object |
By using a barcode object, you can place a barcode on the template that can be read by a barcode reader when it is printed. There are many different types of barcode symbols, and by using BarTender, you can create the symbol that is appropriate for your business needs.
|
The four main types of barcode symbologies are linear, two-dimensional (2-D) stacked, 2-D matrix, and composite. The Barcode Guide on the Seagull Scientific website describes the differences between the symbology types and provides details about the symbologies that BarTender supports.
|
After you add a barcode object to the template, you can customize its properties by using the property pages of the Barcode Properties dialog.
Symbology and Size Property Page
Use the Symbology and Size property page to specify exactly how you want a barcode object to be displayed on your template. The options that are available vary depending on the symbology that you select.
Customizing Human Readable Characters
The characters that are encoded in a barcode are often displayed below it. However, you can customize alternate ways to display the human readable characters.
