Tabs Overview |
The Embedded Table Data Editor includes a Home tab and a Fields tab that display a ribbon that provides specific controls to create and manage your document's embedded database. The options on the ribbon vary depending on which tab is selected and on whether you are working with a data table or a phrase library.
Below the ribbon, the Tables pane displays all the tables and phrase libraries in the current database. To the right of this pane is the data pane. The options that are available in the data pane depend on whether you are configuring a phrase library or a data table. When you configure a data table, you can switch between the Data View and Design View panes by clicking the tabs at the bottom of the data pane.
The Fields tab is available only when you are working with a data table and using Data view. The properties that are displayed on the Fields tab are the properties of the currently selected column or field in Data view. In Design view, you can edit field properties by using the Field Properties pane at the bottom of the view.
This section describes the tabs and the controls that are available on each.
Use the Home tab to add data tables and/or phrase libraries to the database file; to cut, copy, and paste data; to import and export tables and libraries; to clear data or remove all fields from a table or library; and to automatically translate text in a phrase library.
Use the Fields tab to add and remove fields, configure field properties, and configure validation rules for the data in the selected data table.
