Symbol version refers to the size of the . Larger symbol versions can hold more data than smaller symbol versions. Use the Symbol Version option to set the size for your symbol by selecting a value from a list, where the sizes are listed from smallest to largest. When you select Auto, BarTender automatically selects the smallest symbol version size that will hold the data.

The Code One symbology organizes its symbol versions with the smallest size at the top of the list (A), and the largest size (T48) at the bottom. The three size selections that begin with the letter "S" (S10, S20, and S30) can be used only with numeric data.
The QR Code symbology supports 40 different sizes that you can set by using the Symbol Version option. The smallest, version 1, measures 21 x 21 modules. Each subsequent version increases in size in steps of four modules per side. The largest, version 40, measures 177 x 177 modules.
The Han Xin Code symbology supports 84 different sizes that you can set by using the Symbol Version option. The smallest, version 1, measures 23 x 23 modules. Each subsequent version increases in size in steps of two modules per side. The largest, version 84, measures 189 x 189 modules.
The iQR Code symbology supports 61 sizes of square-shaped symbols and 15 sizes of rectangle-shaped symbols that you can set by using the Symbol Version option.
Square-Shaped Symbols

Versions 1 through 10: Version 1 measures 9 x 9 modules. Each subsequent version in this set increases in size in steps of two modules per side. Version 10 measures 27 x 27 modules.

Versions 11 through 45: Versions 11 through 45 increase in size from each previous version in steps of four modules per side.

Versions 46 through 61: Version 46 measures 182 x 182 modules. Each subsequent version in this set increases in size in steps of 16 modules per side.
Rectangle-Shaped Symbols
The symbol versions that start with an "R" format the barcode as a rectangle.

Versions R1: Version 1, the smallest of the rectangle-shaped symbols, measures 5 x 19 modules.

Versions R2 through R4: Version R2 measures 5 x 29 modules. Each subsequent version in this set increases in size in steps of two modules per side in the vertical direction.

Versions R5 through R7: Version R5 measures 9 x 35 modules. Each subsequent version in this set increases in size in steps of two modules per side in the vertical direction.

Versions R8 through R15: Version R8 measures 15 x 47 modules. Each subsequent version in this set increases in size from the previous version in steps of four modules per side in the vertical direction and in steps of 12 modules per side in the horizontal direction.
The Micro QR Code symbology supports four different sizes that you can set by using the Symbol Version option. The smallest, version M1, measures 11 x 11 modules. Each subsequent version increases in size in steps of two modules per side. The largest, version M4, measures 17 x 17 modules.
