The Orientation option of the Page Setup dialog enables your printer to print your items with either a "Portrait" or "Landscape" orientation. In the publishing industry, a "Portrait" orientation has traditionally meant that a page would be printed taller than it was wide, while a "Landscape" orientation meant that a page would be printed wider than it was tall. However, in the label printing industry, these terms have a different meaning. Very simply, a page or label printed with a "Portrait" orientation is not rotated relative to the direction of paper motion, while a page or label with a "Landscape" orientation is rotated 90 degrees.

For example, in the figure shown below, the labels are the same height and width. The only difference between the two is that the label on the right has been rotated counterclockwise into a "Landscape" orientation.

Based on your printer selection, you may also have the options of "Portrait 180" and "Landscape 180". Portrait 180 is a label upside down relative to the direction of paper motion; similarly Landscape 180 refers to an orientation like Landscape except that the label is rotated clockwise.
