A Data Matrix symbol is made up of columns and rows that store data. Most of these barcodes contain an equal number of columns and rows and therefore have a square shape. However, symbol type ECC 200 allows for some barcodes to have more columns than rows and therefore have a rectangular shape.
Because 2D-Pharmacode is a variant of the Data Matrix symbology, it supports the same sizing options as Data Matrix.
The Size option includes a list of preset dimensions and auto-generated settings that you can use to specify whether a barcode has an equal number of columns and rows, as follows:
Auto-Square: Creates the symbol to have an equal number of columns and rows and a square shape.
Auto-Rectangle: Creates the symbol to have more columns than rows and a rectangular shape. To use this setting, the amount of data must be small. If the input data is larger than what will fit into the available rectangular sizes, the symbol is printed as a square.
