Adding Variables

You can use the Insert Variable dialog to add a variable to various properties on the action property tabs when you specify a value for the selected property. This feature is supported for any property for which the Insert Variable control is available on the toolbar.

  1. On the Create tab, click the event that you want, and then click the action that you want to update.

  2. Locate the property that you want to update, and then click the input field.

  3. Click on the toolbar, and then click a recently used variable or click More Variables to open the Insert Variable dialog.

  4. In the left navigation pane of the Insert Variable dialog, click the variable type that you want to display a list of the available variables of that type.

  5. Click the variable that you want, and then click OK to close the dialog and insert the variable in the property input field. Alternatively, double-click the variable.
