The Administration tab provides access to the following pages.
Options Page
Use the Options page to view global variables that are available for use by all actions in the currently selected event and to create your own custom global variables.
Predefined Global Variables
Lists the predefined global variables that are available in BarTender.
Custom Global Variables
Add Variable: Click Add Variable to define the first variable that you want. Available only when no variables were previously added.
Add: Click Add to define another variable. Available only after at least one variable is added.
Variables: Displays each variable that has been added. Click a variable in the list to view its Name and Value properties.
Name: Displays the name of the variable that is currently selected in the Variables list. You can enter a new name in the text box.
Value: Specifies the value for the variable that is currently selected in the Variables list. You can enter a new value in the text box.
Import: Opens the Open File dialog so that you can browse to and open a file that contains the values that you want to be assigned to the variable. When you open the file, its contents are imported into the Value field.
Export: Opens the Save File dialog so that you can save the contents of the Value field as an external file. You can save the value as a new file or replace the contents of an existing file.
Edit variable value
: Opens the Value for dialog, where you can edit the value of the variable.
Help Page
The Help page provides options for you to access technical support resources and product information about BarTender.
The following options are available:
Using Document and Form Actions: Accesses the help system for the document and form actions in BarTender.
Seagull on the Web: Links to the Seagull Scientific website, where you can view videos and read white papers that can help you integrate your system with BarTender.
Contact Us: Displays information about how obtain technical support.
Help Us Help You: Starts a wizard that you can use to send system information, configuration files, and affected BarTender documents to Technical Support.
System Information: Gathers and displays information about your hardware and the installed components of the BarTender Suite. This information can be exported to a native text file and sent to Technical Support for troubleshooting assistance.
