General Property Page |
The General property page allows you to control Print Portal interface behavior, such as whether or not the Print Document dialog appears after clicking on a document, whether or not and what kind of print messages are displayed after printing a document, how folders are displayed, and whether or not messages are displayed when you move the mouse pointer over documents and folders.
Access the General property page by clicking General in the left navigation pane of the Administrative Setup page.
The following settings are available on the page:
Print Settings
On mouse click: Specifies what actions Print Portal performs when you select a document. The following options are available:
Show print dialog: Displays the Print Document dialog when a document is selected in the document browser.
Immediately print: Immediately sends a print job to the printer when a document is selected in the document browse. Prompts for user input are displayed if required by the document.
BarTender print messages to show: Specifies the types of messages you want displayed in the Messages dialog. You can select Errors, Errors and Warnings, or Errors, Warnings, and Information.
View Options
Show folders in document browser: When enabled, any sub-folders of the currently selected folder are displayed in the document browser.
Show folder navigator: When enabled, the folder navigator is displayed in the Print Portal user interface.
Show folder icons in navigator: When enabled, folders are displayed in the folder navigator as icons; either as the default icon or as your customized folder icon. For more information on creating customized folder icons, refer to Customizing Folder Icons.

Display comments: When enabled, displays any comments that were saved with the document. Comments are specified in the Comments tab of the BarTender Document Options dialog in BarTender.
Display file information: When enabled, displays information about a document, such as file size and date last modified.
Override default instructional text: When enabled, you can provide your our own instructional text. Instructional text appears on Print Portal's start page when you have disabled the Show folder navigator option on the General property page.
