The input data format that you select for the integration's input event data specifies the content type of the data. This determines how the Integration Service saves the input data to the %EventData% variable and whether additional integration variables are created.

Supported file content format types include the following: 

• BTXML Script: Specifies that the action saves the entire data contents to the %EventData% variable.

• XML Variables: Specifies that the action parses the data and saves the parsed results as integration variables for later use.

  File Format Example

  When you specify the XML Variables format, the action parses the data into variables according to the schema contained within the data. The following formats are supported:

  Any <Variable> or <variable> that appears in the xml document is valid as long as the name and value can be retrieved from its attribute or child node. Lower case "variable," "name," and "value" are also accepted.

  In each of these examples, you can then use %Variable1% and %Variable2% in subsequent actions in the integration.

  The XML Variables format supports parsing variables in saved sample files (.vars).

   

• Other XML: Specifies that the action saves the entire data contents to the %EventData% variable.

• Text (CSV): Specifies that the action saves the entire data contents to the %EventData% variable.

• Text (Tab Delimited): Specifies that the action saves the entire data contents to the %EventData% variable.

• JSON Variables: Specifies that the action parses the data and saves the parsed results as integration variables for later use.

  File Format Example

  When you specify the JSON Variables format, the action parses the data into variables according to the schema contained within the data. The following format is supported:

  In this example, you can then use %Variable1% and %Variable2% in subsequent actions in the integration.

• Print Command Script: Specifies that the action saves the entire data contents to the %EventData% variable.

• Unstructured: Specifies that the action saves the entire data contents to the %EventData% variable.
